Bustling, cosmopolitan London is home to 8 million Web-savvy shoppers and 800,000 businesses. Twenty percent of Europe's largest companies are headquartered there. Now your business can be there, too.
The .LONDON launch is divided into three phases: Trademark Holder (Sunrise), Priority Pre-Registration (Landrush) and General Availability.
Note: For .LONDON domain names, Sunrise and Landrush will be held on the same dates.
Registration is based on the following tiers:
Tier 1 — Trademarks verified with ICANN’s Trademark Clearinghouse database
Tier 2 — Those with a physical address in the city of London (or its 32 boroughs) and rights to a name (such as proof of business or trading name)
Tier 3 — Those with a physical address in the city of London (or its 32 boroughs)
Tier 4 — Everyone else
Because Sunrise and Landrush are held concurrently, registrants in the highest tier will get the domain (i.e. Tier 1 has priority over Tier 2). If there are multiple applications for a domain name and they are in the same tier, then it will go to auction.
Each phase has specific application requirements:
From April 29, 2014, at 16:00 UTC, to July 31, 2014, at 16:00 UTC, trademark holders can submit an application to register a .LONDON domain containing their owned mark before it's available to the public.
Trademark validation goes through the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH), which is an ICANN global repository for trademark data. Visit the TMCH website for information on registering a trademark.
Bulk .LONDON registration is not supported during this phase.
From April 29, 2014, at 16:00 UTC, to July 31, 2014, at 16:00 UTC, customers can purchase .LONDON domain names at a premium price. An application fee (along with the registration fee) is collected when the registration request is submitted.
Multiple Priority Pre-Registration applications (for the same domain name) are resolved via auction. If, for some reason, you don't get the domain you want, we'll refund your registration fee.
Bulk .LONDON registration is not supported during this phase.
Beginning Sept. 9, 2014, at 16:00 UTC, customers can register .LONDON domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bulk .LONDON registration is supported during General Availability.
Multiple applications with different registrars are resolved on a first-come, first-served basis during General Availability. If you aren’t able to secure the domain name, we’ll refund the registration fee.
