An acronym for the Brazilian term Sociedade limitada, the .ltda domain name is a boon for Brazilian businesses. The Sociedade limitada is comparable to an American LLC, wherein elements of both partnership and corporate structures coincide to form a unique business enterprise. Brazilian business owners can inhabit a distinct online space with the .ltda domain extension.
The .ltda launch is divided into two pre-registration phases: Pre-Registration - Sunrise and Pre-Registration - General Availability. Each phase has specific application requirements:
Pre-registration gives you the best possible chance of securing a domain name before it's available to the general public, but it doesn't guarantee you will get it. You can pre-register for Sunrise and General Availability phases, and we'll submit your registration application when the phase begins.
Multiple applications with different registrars are resolved on a first-come, first-served basis during General Availability. If you aren't able to secure the domain name, we'll refund the registration fee.
Starting on October 9, 2014 at 18:00 UTC, pre-registration for the Sunrise phase will begin. Trademark holders can submit an application to pre-register a .ltda domain containing their owned mark, before it's available to the public.
Trademark validation goes through the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH), which is an ICANN global repository for trademark data. Visit the TMCH website for information on registering a trademark.
Bulk .ltda registration is not supported during Sunrise.
If you aren't able to secure the domain name, we'll refund the registration fee.
Note: You cannot cancel your pre-registration application. If you are awarded the domain name, you have 5 days to cancel your domain name and get a refund of the registration fee.
Beginning December 2, 2014, at 15:00 UTC, customers can register .ltda domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bulk .ltda registration is supported during General Availability.
Multiple applications with different registrars are resolved on a first-come, first-served basis during General Availability. If you aren't able to secure the domain name, we'll refund the registration fee.

Anyone can register .ltda domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.
These domain names can have up to 63 characters, with a minimum of one character, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #. Second-level IDNs (International Domain Names) are not supported.
Note: Premium one- and two-letter .ltda domains will be sold at auction by AfterNic. The timeframe for the release of these domains or if they will renew at the premium rate has not yet been determined.
InterNetX sponsors the .LTDA domain extension and Afilias is the registry provider.
You can register a .ltda domain name for a minimum of one year and a maximum of 10 years.
We'll attempt to auto-renew your .ltda domain name on its expiration date. We will park .ltda domain names after the first failed billing attempt. If the domain name isn't renewed within 40 days following expiration, the domain name will be cancelled and removed from your account.
