What is a dedicated IP?
A dedicated IP address is a unique Internet address assigned exclusively to a single hosting account. Only business hosting accounts are eligible for dedicated IP addresses. Shared hosting accounts share the server's IP address and cannot have a dedicated IP.
Dedicated IP addresses let you:
- View your website via its IP address.
- Use FTP to access your account while the domain name is otherwise inaccessible, such as during domain name propagation periods.
- Ensure faster response during periods of high traffic load.
