Using Excel to modify your category assignments

After you have created Categories in your Quick Shopping Cart®, you can use this Microsoft Excel® spreadsheet to make bulk changes and assign products to one or more category or subcategory.

Download the Excel Spreadsheet Template

  1. Log in to your ITEGY account.
  2. Click Quick Shopping Cart.
  3. In the Quick Shopping Cart list, click Manage next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to modify.
  4. From the Manage menu, in the Catalog section, click Updates & Exports.
  5. Click Category Assignments.
  6. Click Export, and then specify where you want to download the file.

Editing the Excel Spreadsheet Template

You can use this spreadsheet to select and modify categories for products. Action and Category are the only fields that can be edited. To assign a product to multiple categories, simply add that product on a new line and select a different Product Category.

Note: To add, delete or modify products you must use the Products spreadsheet.

Action — Options are Keep, Add, or Remove.

Part Number — The product's part number. This number must be unique from all products.

Title — The product's title in the catalog. The Title cannot be updated in this spreadsheet.

Category — The Category with which the product is associated. The listed categories are the ones you set up in your catalog.

Importing the Excel Spreadsheet Template into Quick Shopping Cart

After you have made edits, you need to import the spreadsheet to update your store.

To import the Excel Spreadsheet

  1. Log in to your ITEGY account.
  2. Click Quick Shopping Cart.
  3. In the Quick Shopping Cart list, click Manage next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to modify.
  4. From the Manage menu, in the Catalog section, click Updates & Exports.
  5. Click Category Assignments.
  6. Click Import and in the Upload Category Assignments window, click Browse to locate and open the file.
  7. Click Upload.

You must publish your site for the storefront to reflect your changes.
