Change the domain name (common name) on my SSL certificate

You can change your SSL certificate's "common name," which is the primary domain name that the certificate secures and encrypts. How you change your common name is dependent on where your certificate is currently hosted:

Primary domain on a ITEGY hosting account
  1. Uninstall your certificate from its current location.
  2. Change the domain name on your hosting (cPanel | Plesk | Web & Classic)
  3. Follow the steps below.
Website Builder account
  1. Uninstall your certificate from it's current location.
  2. Change the domain name on your Website Builder account.
  3. Follow the steps below.
Anywhere elseFollow the steps below.
  1. Login to your ITEGY account and open your product. (Need help opening yourproduct?)
  2. Click Rekey & Manage.
  3. Click Change the site that your certificate protects.
  4. Select one of the following based on where your website is hosted:

    HostedDo this…
    Shared hosting or Site BuilderSelect Change to a hosted domain, and then select the domain name you want to use.
    ElsewhereDeselect Change to a hosted domain. Enter the Common name you want to use for the certificate.
  5. Click Save.
  6. If you provided a CSR for the server using the SSL certificate and are moving to a new server, you'll also need to re-key the certificate
  7. Click Submit All Saved Changes.

Note:With Deluxe and Extended Validation SSLs, you can only change the common name; you cannot change the organization's information.
