You can manually install SSL certs on your cPanel account, whether they are issued by ITEGY or another provider.
Required: Deluxe and extended validation (EV) certificates, as well as SSLs for addon domains or subdomains must be installed manually.
Generate a CSR
To complete these steps, your cPanel account needs to be setup and the domain you want to use with the SSL certificate should already point to it.
- Log in to your ITEGY account and open your product. (Need help opening your product?)
- Click cPanel Admin.
- In the Security section, click SSL/TLS Manager.
- Under Certificate Signing Requests (CSR), click Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests.
- Complete the fields in the Generate a New Certificate Signing Request (CSR) section and click Generate.
Your CSR displays in the Encoded Certificate Signing Request section. You'll need to make a copy of the CSR to request an SSL certificate.
Request and download your SSL certificate
- Provide the CSR to the company who issued the certificate. If it’s ITEGY, request the certificate.
- After the certificate is issued, you will need to download your certificate as a
CRT
file.
Upload and Activate Your Certificate
To complete these steps, you need to have the CRT
file provided to you by the company who issued your SSL certificate.
- Log in to your ITEGY account.
- Click Web Hosting.
- Next to the cPanel account you want to use, click Manage.
- Click cPanel Admin.
- In the Security section, click SSL/TLS Manager.
- Under Certificates (CRT), click Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates.
- Use the Upload Certificate section to upload the
CRT
file from your local machine and click Upload Certificate. - From the SSL/TLS Manager, click Manage SSL Sites.
- Click Browse Certificates and select the certificate that you want to activate. This will auto-fill the fields for the certificate.
- Click Install Certificate.
That's it!
