You can set up email for a domain name hosted on a server using Plesk.
Configuring your server to use email for a domain name is a two-step process. First, make sure your server isn't configured to use its own email services for your domain name. Second, set the proper MX records for your domain name to use email. For more information, see Checking and managing my MX records.
To Set up Your Email Using Plesk
- Log in to Plesk by entering admin as your user name.
- Click Domains.
- Locate the domain name, then click Open in Control Panel.
- Click Mail, and then click Change Settings.
- Deselect Activate Mail Service on Domain. Leave Plesk open.
- Click Websites & Domains.
- Click the icon for the domain name you want to modify and select the DNS option.
- Select the domain name, and then click Remove.
- For Record Type, select MX, and then do the following:
- Leave Mail Domain field blank.
- In the Priority field, type 0.
- In the Destination field, type smtp.secureserver.net.
- Click OK.
- For Record Type, select MX, and then do the following:
- Leave the Mail Domain field blank.
- In the Priority field, type 10.
- In the Destination field, type mailstore1.secureserver.net.
- Click OK.
- View the new MX records at the bottom of the page to make sure they are correct. It can take up to 48 hours for the changes to propagate through the Internet.
